Saul Salinas

Saul Salinas retired as a Deputy Fire Chief of the Peoria Fire & Medical Department in November 2021, after more than 23 years of dedicated service as a firefighter. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Safety and Emergency Management, as well as a Master of Science in Leadership, both from Grand Canyon University. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies at Phoenix Seminary.

In addition to his impressive career in public service, Saul is the owner of Iron Marvels LLC, a small business specializing in the creation and sale of modern art and furniture. Currently on pause to focus on his seminary studies, his business also offers welding and woodworking classes, providing hands-on opportunities for individuals to learn a new trade. Saul has a construction background as an Ironworker prior to his public service years and remodeling homes as well.

Saul is a firm believer and practitioner of leadership through investing time in people. He quotes the following: “People helping people will perpetuate a motion of people helping people. It takes time and dedication as an individual or as a group to create a culture that believes and trusts in each other. Patience and consistency are the keys to success. My faith is the engine that drives my desire to help those that I can.”

Saul and his wife, Mikaleen, are active members of Living Streams Church, where they remain deeply involved in their community. They have three children and three grandchildren.

In his spare time, Saul loves spending time with his children, grandchildren, parents, or friends while smoking barbecue recipes. He enjoys adventures such as hiking with his wife, in the pines or at a sandy beach. He likes taking his mountain bike out on rocky trails. Additionally, Saul loves spending time in his shop, working with his hands, creating artistic or modern furniture for his home using hardwoods or metal.
